The sports world has widely talked about how underwhelming the Oklahoma City Thunder have been, particularly the presence of its three superstars — Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, and Paul George. Thankfully, though, such talks are slowly evaporating. The Thunder just had a stretch where they went 11-3, and it had them jumping to the fifth spot in the Western Conference standings.

Also, a couple of things are not lost, most notably George's ability to produce. His scoring is understandably down, since he's sharing opportunities with two other scorers, but his averages of 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and league-leading 2.4 steals per game should be deemed good enough.

Also constant in George's game is his knack for splashing shots from downtown. Despite the Thunder being notorious for running too many isolation plays that take away looks for shooters, he is still able to net 3.2 threes per game on a 43.4 shooting clip, which is good for fifth-best in the league.

Although Tuesday night ended with a 117-106 loss against the visiting Portland Trail Blazers, George further proved just how steady his outside shooting is, as he continued his streak of having three or more 3-pointers in a game. He has now done it in eight-consecutive outings, tying the franchise record set by Ray Allen, who got the feat when the team was still known as the Seattle SuperSonics.

We might be jinxing Paul George here, but considering the fine rhythm that he's on, we can probably expect him to eclipse Allen's mark in the coming days. The Thunder will face the Minnesota Timberwolves next, and George is averaging three attempts from long range against them this season.
