Carmelo Anthony’s first season with the Oklahoma City Thunder did not go exactly the way he thought it would be. Even his offseason is not going well, particularly in the world of social media, where he continues to get disparaged by frustrated Thunder fans and bitter New York Knicks supporters. Anthony even appeared to have had enough of the mockery, when he reacted recently to an Instagram post that said Kyle Korver is better than him.

It’s going to be interesting how Anthony reacts this time around once he finds out that one of his teammates have liked an Instagram comment that ridicules his value to the Thunder. We’re talking about Thunder big man Steven Adams, who said he merely liked the comment by accident, per Tyler Conway of Bleacher Report.

Adams reached out through the Thunder to explain to B/R that his “like” was an accident, a case of his big fingers hitting the wrong button and not criticism of his teammate.

Despite teaming up with two other superstars in Paul George and Russell Westbrook, Anthony and the Thunder struggled with consistency all season long. While they made the playoffs, they lasted just one round, as they were embarrassed by the Utah Jazz, who were led by a rookie in Donovan Mitchell, in the Western Conference.

Anthony averaged a career-low of 16.2 points per game in the 2017-18 season with the Thunder.

Furthermore, and in fairness to Adams, he, Russell Westbrook, and Paul George were top three in terms of win shares among the team. Heck, Carmelo Anthony was only fifth with Jerami Grant having a better win shares figure than the many-time All-Star.

In any case, Anthony can still bounce back next season.
