To the surprise of many, Canadian rapper Drake was in attendance when the Oklahoma City Thunder went up against the Houston Rockets in Oklahoma on Wednesday night. The famous rapper was seen sitting courtside as the Rockets defeated the Thunder 114-110.

This is definitely not the first time Drizzy has been seen in an NBA game, but what was surprising was that he watched the Thunder and the Rockets specifically. Apparently, Drake was not in town for the game but to see a friend (via The Oklahoman):

“Drake, the most famous rapper in the world, sat courtside in Oklahoma City for the second half Wednesday night. Why? Good question. It’s not like the Lakers or Nets were in town. Even then it still would have been shocking. According to the Thunder broadcast, Drake was in town to see a friend.”

A couple of Drake's compatriots—Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort—were on the Thunders' roster and greeted him after the game. Like many fans following the game, Gilgeous-Alexander admitted he didn't know the Toronto rapper would be in town. As for Thunders head coach Mark Daigneault, he didn't get a chance to meet Drake. After the game, he admitted he and Drake don't know each other.

Meeting Drake will be the least of Daigneault's problems, however, after his side slipped to a sixth consecutive defeat that left them 13th in the Western Conference standings. The Rockets, despite being on a four-game win streak, sit bottom of the Western Conference after 21 games.
