Oklahoma City Thunder superstar point guard Russell Westbrook was locked and loaded with an extremely cold water bottle on Thursday night. Needless to say, he made sure superstar forward Carmelo Anthony was aware of it.
Following the Thunder's 127-117 victory over the L.A. Clippers, Westbrook doused his teammate during his postgame interview and Anthony had a NSFW reaction to the minor shower:
Unfortunately for the reporter, Carmelo Anthony's reaction could have been heard from the fifth row at Staples Center. However, it would be the only time he would slip up on a night that saw him climb the all-time scoring list.
Although most of the attention has surrounded George's return to his hometown, Anthony has quietly enjoyed an efficient road trip as well. Just a night removed from his 8-for-14 performance against the Lakers, Anthony hit nine of his 12 shots versus the Clippers despite getting into some foul trouble in the second half. Furthermore, he has gone six-of-11 from 3-point land during his trip to Los Angeles.
The Thunder's victory over the surging Clippers is further evidence of how well they have been playing lately. Carmelo Anthony recently credited their performance to that fact that Westbrook has done a solid job of not deferring to any of the Thunder's other superstars.
However, the veteran has managed to do his part by taking advantage of the limited scoring opportunities. His consistent shooting has been one of the main reasons why the Thunder have emerged as one of the hottest teams in the league.
