The Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trail Blazers' game had one tense moment at the 3-minute mark of the second quarter at the Moda Center. Portland's center in Jusuf Nurkic ran into the Thunder's Steven Adams, which the latter — and Russell Westbrook — did not like at all.

Watch the video below:

While Nurkic and Adams' contact doesn't really come off as a crazy firestarter, everyone knows how Westbrook is always intense about anything that happens on the court.

Interestingly, the scene seemed like a reversal of roles as, usually, it is Westbrook whom Adams has to protect in similar situations. Besides, for this instance, it's not like the hulking Kiwi is someone that badly needs protection.

While Nurkic isn't one to back down from any challenge regardless of the opponent's size, he should still consider himself lucky that Adams did not have a surge of the Dothraki blood in him or else it won't end up pretty for the Bosnian big man.

Adams isn't known to be a hothead, but he had no clue if him being toppled to the ground was intentional or purely accidental, hence the reaction. But the Thunder's enforcer came to his senses eventually and decided to walk it off — or maybe Westbrook's reaction knocked the balance into Adams' mind that he no longer felt the need to confront Nurkic for the contact?

Nevertheless, Adams will have plenty of opportunities to bang bodies with Nurkic and the rest of the Blazers as Oklahoma City has some catching up to do as of this writing.
