Plays like this have led analysts to believe that George may be an MVP candidate this year. Not only is he logging in career numbers, but the Thunder are tagged as one of the best teams in the league.
Early in his career, he was regarded as a terrific defensive player and a decent offensive gunner. Now, he's considered the best two-way player in the league. Wherever he is on the court, he's matched up with the team's best player. But if you were to ask George himself, he doesn't consider himself as either a good offensive player or a good defensive player.
“I don't consider myself a good offensive player. I don't consider myself a good defensive player,” he said, per Royce Young of ESPN. “I just consider myself a good basketball player.”
“They go hand and hand for me. My defense plays into my offense, and vice versa. I know when I'm locked into my offense when my defense is solid.”
Whether or not George takes home MVP trophy or not, he has certainly made his mark. He's definitely one of NBA's elites.
