LAS VEGAS – NBA legend Tony Parker came out to watch and support his San Antonio Spurs at NBA Summer League this past week at UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center. It isn't, however, the only reason there's a separate tournament happening just three miles away. The World Series of Poker is taking place in Las Vegas as well, at Bally's Hotel and Casino.

The World Series of Poker is the largest and richest gaming event in the world, having awarded over $3.5 billion in prize money. That doesn't even include the prestigious gold bracelet, which is recognized worldwide as the most expensive sports trophy.

This weekend will cap off a 47-day run of the Main Event that saw 8,663 contestants. The finalists to reach the final stage included Espen Jorstad, Matthew Su, Matija Dobric, Aaron Duczak, John Eames, Adrian Attenborough, Michael Duek, Jeffrey Farnes, Asher Conniff and Philippe Souki.

Here are the three World Series of Poker finalists that remain as well as their chip count:

Espen Jorstad……….$298,000,000
Adrian Attenborough….$149,800,000
Michael Duek…………$72,100,000

The newly crowned 2022 World Champion will take home $10,000,000 in prize money as well as the first Main Event bracelet awarded at the WSOP’s new home of Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s, the future Horseshoe Las Vegas.

Designed by Jostens, the new Main Event bracelet features 500 grams of 10 karat white and yellow gold, including 55 and a half karats or 2,767 various precious stones including rubies, and black and white diamonds. In a feature unique to the 2022 design, a removable golden poker chip sits in the center of the bracelet which can be used as a cardholder.

Given the countless in-flight Poker games he participated in, it should come as no surprise that Tony Parker is an avid poker player. The former San Antonio Spurs legend invited friends and a few media members to attend his invitation-only Poker Tournament at Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.

“I've played a lot of Poker in the plane with my teammates,” Tony Parker told ClutchPoints. “So now that I got a little bit more time, I can play in the WSOP, so it's been a pretty cool experience.”

Tony Parker was among those who got to hold and take a closer look at the bracelet, which is rumored to be the most expensive type of trophy ever.

“I played cash games. And yes, the answer is yes [I won more than I lost].”

Who did he take the most money from though? That, he's not willing to admit.

“I'm not gonna throw anybody under the bus,” Parker laughed. “I don't want to get in any kind of trouble… Me and Timmy won most of the times though.”
