Unless you have decided to not own a T.V., phone, tablet, or laptop, you've probably heard about Minnesota Timberwolves star Jimmy Butler requesting a trade. It's no secret that Butler's been unhappy. There was still hope, however, that the relationship could be repaired with a year remaining on his contract.

Wednesday's news seems like the final straw, though, and with Tom Thibodeau running the show, you have to believe that Butler's wish will come true.

With that comes the speculation to where the do-it-all guard will end up. Here are the top five potential destinations for Butler, ranked.

5 – Miami Heat

One team that has been attached to Butler as of late is the organization down in South Beach. Led by Pat Riley, the Heat have never been shy about making big moves to compete right away. With a few large contracts led by Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside's, that could make the logistics work, Miami seems like the dark-horse with a real shot at nabbing Butler.

4 – Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs plan on staying competitive, locking up Kevin Love long-term and keeping veterans that many speculated would be traded. With a surplus of guards, young talent, and expiring contracts, Cleveland could theoretically make a trade work if both sides are motivated.

2 – Brooklyn Nets

Despite years of futility, Brooklyn is always seen as an option for stars. The Nets will finally have some of their own draft picks, giving them just enough ammo to make a big trade happen.

There has also been speculation of Butler liking the idea of suiting up for Brooklyn as Kyrie Irving is being rumored as a target by the team in next year's free agency, leaving the Nets as one of the top potential landing spots for the veteran.

1 – New York Knicks

This one seems obvious. Just about everyone with a pulse on the NBA has heard about Butler and fellow 2019 free-agent Kyrie Irving's plans to team up a year from now. What better way to ensure that happens than get one of them now? Sure, the Knicks could wait in hopes of signing the duo next off-season but if the Paul George situation showed us anything, you can't always wait and expect things to just work themselves out. The Knicks need to be on the phone with Minnesota as you read this piece.

Those are the five teams I see as most likely to net Jimmy Buckets, but if you know anything about the NBA, then you know that nothing is as clear as it may seem.

Get your popcorn ready.
