The Minnesota Twins entered the 2022 season expecting to be toward the bottom of the American League Central division. Meanwhile, the Chicago White Sox were one of the favorites to reach the World Series. However, on Sunday, the Twins finished a three-game sweep of the White Sox, and ended the series in dramatic fashion.

With the game tied 4-4 in the tenth inning and two runners on, Twins outfielder Byron Buxton sent everyone in Minneapolis home happy with a towering 469-foot walk-off home run.

Buxton sent the ball beyond the upper deck and might have been one of the hardest hit balls in Twins history. According to StatCast, the blast was the longest walk off home run measured in baseball since 2015.

It was Buxton's second home run of the game. He also hit one in the sixth inning, a two run shot tying the game 3-3. Buxton now has three home runs over the last two days, as he also hit on Saturday. The Twins center fielder has always shown the tools to be one of the best all-around baseball players in the majors. But injuries have been his biggest problem.

Buxton missed a couple games earlier in the week due to injury, leaving Twins fans wondering if he will ever realize his full potential. Then this weekend, they were treated to what that potential is. Buxton is also elite on base paths, having stolen 29 bases in the only season he was able to play 100 games in his pro career.

The Twins improved to 8-8 on the season. Meanwhile, the White Sox continue to scuffle out of the gates, falling to 6-9. Much of that has to do with injuries.
