The Houston Rockets sent out a tweet on Thursday morning to wish Russell Westbrook a happy 32nd birthday. This may seem like ordinary procedure, as most teams wish their players well on their special days.

However, consider the fact that the Brodie requested a trade just one day prior.

In the minutes and hours after this tweet from the Rockets went live, fans of the team began to chime in with their opinions. Some were clearly salty, while others seemed to be sad about the fact that Russ could be leaving.

One Twitter user shared a sentiment that many NBA fans felt after seeing Houston's happy birthday message to Westbrook. Rather than using words, the fan slid three emojis in:

At this point, it's not clear where Westbrook will be playing in the coming season. At 32, he has a salary that pays him north of $130 million over the course of the next three seasons, though he can opt out after 2022-23. Without a doubt, several teams will be interested in his services. For now, we'll have to wait and see what sort of offer the Rockets are willing to entertain.
