USC football commit Julian Lewis is posting a photo of himself with Colorado football quarterback Shedeur Sanders. The two posed for a photo while Lewis was visiting Colorado, per On3.

Lewis has been committed to the Trojans, but is visiting other schools. The five-star quarterback is the no. 16 overall player in the 2025 class rankings, per 247Sports. He is also the third highest rated quarterback. Lewis has been excellent in high school football, throwing for more than 7,000 yards, per Max Preps.

Lewis has expressed his firm commitment to USC football, saying the Trojans are his school of choice due to coach Lincoln Riley's relationship with quarterbacks. The five-star gunslinger recently participated in the Elite 11 Finals in California, a camp that showcases the skills of prep and high school quarterbacks. Lewis did tell reporters at Elite 11 he would visit other schools, but remains loyal to USC.

USC football is probably a little bit worried seeing Lewis visit other schools, but has to remain focused on the 2024 campaign. USC had a somewhat disappointing year in 2023, with a 8-5 overall record. The school played its final season in the Pac-12 and is now headed to the Big Ten Conference. UCLA, Oregon and Washington are joining them in this new league.

The Trojans had a great offense in 2023, behind no. 1 overall NFL Draft pick Caleb Williams. The Trojans didn't field a great defense, however, and that will have to change this year. USC will once again go up against some high-octane offenses, including Washington and Penn State. The fans have high expectations, as the squad has a plethora of excellent transfer players. The team also has some excellent freshmen linemen, including defensive stud Kameryn Fountain.

USC football starts the season with a very tough matchup against LSU, on September 1. The team's non conference slate also includes a meeting with bitter rival Notre Dame in November. The Trojans play their final contest outside the league against Utah State.

Colorado's season outlook

Interestingly, Colorado is also joining a new league in 2024. The Buffaloes are now in the Big 12, along with Arizona, Arizona State and Utah. Shedeur Sanders is returning, along with several other Buffaloes players from last season. Colorado finished 4-8 in their last year as a Pac-12 member in 2023.

Like USC, Colorado football struggled on defense during their last campaign. The team lost eight of their last nine games, and missed a bowl game in Deion Sanders' first season as coach. Shedeur will be relied on to lead the offense to a lot of red zone opportunities. Shedeur is also a contender for Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year honors.

Colorado starts their season on August 29 against North Dakota State. The team also plays Colorado State and Nebraska in the non conference, before starting their Big 12 schedule against Baylor.

Julian Lewis will most certainly be watching both of these teams closely in the months ahead.
