The Denver Nuggets found themselves neck-and-neck with the Oklahoma City Thunder as they figured in a high-scoring battle in the Mile High City. Fortunately for the home team, Gary Harris rose to the occasion to drain a game-winning 3-pointer over Russell Westbrook right at the buzzer.

The ending served as the perfect irony for Westbrook and the Nuggets. Back in April of last year, the reigning MVP drilled a cold-blooded basket from long distance to break the hearts of the Nuggets in Denver. The play was so outstanding that it even netted the first Game-Winner of the Year citation during the NBA's inaugural awards show.

As fate would have it, the reversal of fortunes happened right in front of Westbrook's face. The Thunder superstar finished the game with 20 points, nine rebounds, and a whopping 21 assists, narrowly missing a monster triple-double. Paul George teamed up with Westbrook to anchor Oklahoma City's torrid run, scoring 43 points himself.

Many thought that George would end up as the hero in regulation when he sank a 3-pointer to tie the game, leaving a second on the clock.

However, the Nuggets had other plans as Harris worked his way to a wide open spot in the ensuing play that was well-beyond Westbrook's reach. The two-way guard torched his way to 25 markers, but he wasn't even his team's top two scorers on the night.

Jamal Murray, probably the most unpopular NBA player for New Zealand right now, led all scorers for the home team with 33 points. Meanwhile, Nikola Jokic came in without any plans of joking around, registering a huge triple-double with 29 points, 13 rebounds, and 14 assists.
