The Purdue Boilermakers won the Big Ten last season. That is good news, as the featured image in this post of Matt Painter looking like an insane person would otherwise seem like a silly thing to have up there.

Anyway, here is a video of the players receiving rings for their efforts.

It is worth noting that those rings are for the Big Ten regular season championship.

This has been a busy offseason for the Boilermakers. This week alone, Purdue landed 4-star talent Eric Hunter on the recruiting trail. A 6-foot-3 guard from Indianapolis, Eric Hunter joins forward Trevion Williams and center Emmanuel Dowuona in the team’s class. It is worth noting that Hunter is currently the only in-state commitment of the group.

About Purdue, Hunter recently told Peegs.com:

“It is one thing to be wanted and needed by the coaches, but when the players express that to you it is an entirely different thing. Purdue is losing four guys so there will be a lot of minutes. I just like how honest Coach (Matt) Painter is with me and how honest he is with everybody.”

With Vince Edwards and Isaac Haas entering their senior seasons, Purdue really had to focus on bringing in some potential replacements. Those aforementioned front court players are both productive and important cogs in the Boilermakers wheel. While a freshman is unlikely to fill those voids immediately, Purdue had to start somewhere.

As for the upcoming season, fully expect the team to be competing for some more rings.
