The Minnesota Vikings have ventured much of the 2018 season without the services of second-year running back Dalvin Cook due to a nagging hamstring injury.

It appears that Cook will miss yet another game as he has been declared out for Sunday's contest on the road against the New York Jets, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.

It has been an uphill battle for Cook over the last couple of weeks as he works his way back from the injury that Will have now have forced him to miss three games this year. He had appeared to be making progress in the last couple of days in  practice, but he suffered a setback that forced him to miss practice earlier this week.

This had seemingly put his status for Sunday's game against the Jets up in the air. The Vikings have been treading lightly with Cook since his has initially had the hamstring issue arise this season. he has played in just three games this season where he has 98 rushing yards on 36 attempts along with nine catches for 107 receiving yards. Cook last played in the 38-31 loss to the Rams where he had 10 carries for 20 rushing yards. In the time that has followed, he has been on the mend with this week being the first time that he had shown some significant progress.

Minnesota will now shift the workload in the backfield over to Latavius Murray once again as he has proven over the last two years to be a capable contributor when called upon . He is coming off his best outing of the year where he had a season-high 155 rushing yards on 24 carries that includes 34-yard touchdown run. Murray should be in line for another sizable workload as the Vikings look to make a push up the standings in the NFC North as the midway point of the 2018 campaign quickly approaches.
