The Minnesota Vikings aren't messing around with star safety Harrison Smith. According to Mike Golic Jr., the Vikings are making Smith the second-highest paid safety in the league after signing him to a huge four-year deal worth $64 million.

Bringing back Smith was a no-brainer move for Minnesota, and the All-Pro is staying in Minnesota for the foreseeable future after getting paid big bucks. The former first-round pick out of Notre Dame has spent his entire career with the Vikings and will continue to do so after the extension.

Clearly one of the best safeties in the game, and there was no doubt that both sides wanted to get a deal done to keep him even longer. The only other safety that will earn more per year is Jamal Adams, who the Seattle Seahawks just signed to a new deal as well.

This is a huge move for the Vikings, who lock up one of their star defenders as they aim for a playoff berth with Kirk Cousins, Dalvin Cook, Justin Jefferson, and Adam Thielen highlighting the offensive weapons for Mike Zimmer's team.

So, Smith is in Minnesota until at least 2025, and the likelihood is he will spend his entire NFL career with the Vikings.
