It's official. After months and months of discussion, the Seattle Seahawks and star safety Jamal Adams have reached an agreement on a new contract, making him the highest-paid safety in the league. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the deal is for four years and worth $70 million, a huge step in the right direction for the Seahawks.

It was never a matter of if a deal was going to be done, but when. The two sides tried and tried and tried again, and now finally it is done and Adams is getting a ton of money after the Seahawks traded for him from the New York Jets.

The safety was sitting out of practice while waiting for a deal to be done, and Seattle wanted nothing more than for him to return to the field as they aim to make some noise in the NFC West.

Adams is one of the best safeties in the NFL and the Seahawks didn't want to take any chance of him hitting the free agency market. Now, they won't have to, and Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll have to be jumping for joy after hearing the news.

The former LSU Tiger went sixth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft and just wanted the money he deserves. In 2020, his first with Seattle, he had 9.5 sacks, a career-high.
