The Minnesota Vikings have never won a Super Bowl and they haven't made it to one since the 1976-77 campaign.

So needless to say, it has been quite the drought in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

The Vikings' playoff run has gotten off to a good start this year, as they upset the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Round last week. But they still have to win two more games to get a chance to play for a championship. And Kirk Cousins is ready to try and deliver that dream to Minnesota:

“After one of our tough losses this year, I remember getting on the buses and I saw a fan in a purple and yellow T-shirt and all it said on it, ‘Just Once in My Lifetime,'” Cousins told NBC Sports analyst and former NFL head coach Tony Dungy.

“And what they mean is a world championship. And so you want to deliver that, with everything you have, you want to deliver that. And that’s why we work so hard. And so, what better time than right now? Here we are in the divisional round, so one game at a time.

We’ve got to get [past] the 49ers, and it’s not going to be easy. When you’re this close, it certainly gets exciting.”

Cousins has had a roller-coaster year, to say the least.

His first several weeks were dreadful, leading to some wondering if the Vikings could potentially bench him. Cousins responded by playing like an MVP candidate in October, but was then up and down the rest of the season.

However, he came up with a solid performance in a big moment against the Saints. The veteran QB completed 19 of his 31 passes for 242 yards and a game-winning touchdown pass in overtime.

Now, he'll have to deliver a similar type of performance against the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday.
