If there is one thing that is going to hold the Minnesota Vikings back, it's probably their offensive line. There were already questions surrounding the offensive line, and now with guard Nick Easton undergoing surgery to correct a herniated disk, it's not getting any better.

Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins seems to understand that and has really been trying to work on getting better at improvising out of the pocket when it breaks down.

“I'd love to be a better quarterback off-schedule when the pocket breaks down,” Cousins said via ESPN. “Although, I have been a very good quarterback, I believe, on keepers, meaning bootlegs outside the pocket, which are very similar to off-schedule plays. So I'd like to see that translate more, where when a dropback breaks down and I leave the pocket, I can have the same kind of production that I've had when we've run bootlegs and things like that.”

The Vikings' offensive line was decent last year, but if it wasn't for Case Keenum using his legs to his advantage, the number of sacks they gave up would have been a lot higher. Cousins doesn't need to be the savior for this team because of their stout defense that will always keep them in games. He just needs to be good enough and make some of the big plays when the team really needs them. One of those plays might be a scramble after the offensive line breaks down, and it could be the difference between a win or a loss.
