During his media availability on Wednesday, Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said there's a good chance cornerback Xavier Rhodes will be able to play on Sunday against the New England Patriots.

Rhodes was injured during the 4th quarter of the Vikings' game against the Green Bay Packers last Sunday, and there was some speculation the injury could be season-ending. On the replay, it appeared that Rhodes' hamstring may have snapped. On Monday, Zimmer said the injury wasn't very serious and all the TV doctors were wrong.

“Thankfully, it’s very, very mild,” Zimmer said of the injury via Bring Me The News. “As far as the TV doctors that were reporting were very erroneous.”

That “TV doctor” was former NFL team doctor David Chao, who tweeted after the injury that it didn't look good and that he was worried it may require surgery.

“Based on the position of injury, worry for proximal hamstring avulsion injury,” Chao tweeted in response to the video. “If true, it is one of the few hamstring injuries that require surgery.”

Rhodes hasn't been as great this year as in the past, but he is still one of the better cornerbacks in the league. As the Vikings battle for a playoff spot, they need him to produce.

The Vikings face off with the Patriots Sunday, and if Rhodes isn't able to go, rookie Holton Hill will likely get the start. Hill has shown flashes of how good he can be in this league but he is still a rookie, and Brady no doubt would put him in some uncomfortable positions.
