The Minnesota Vikings were in position to get a huge road win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2. All the Vikings needed was for kicker Greg Joseph to bury a 37-yard field goal for a 36-34 win.

Instead, Joseph missed the kick wide right, giving the Cardinals a 34-33 triumph.

Missing a game-winning field goal is bad enough, but it's even more painful for Vikings fans when you hear their radio call. Play-by-play man Paul Allen initially called the kick as if it went through the uprights, letting out a loud yell of excitement before analyst Pete Bercich corrected him.

This is just the epitome of brutality:

This was a truly wild game out in the desert, with a ton of offense, massive stat lines and back-and-forth-action. Minnesota ran out to a 20-7 lead in the first half, only for Kyler Murray and Co. to barge back to take a 24-23 lead at halftime.

The scoring did slow a bit in the second half, but the game went back and forth. The Cardinals took a 34-33 lead with just over four minutes to play on a Matt Prater field goal, and then both teams traded punts. Kirk Cousins drove the Vikings 58 yards down the field to put his team in position to win, but then Joseph botched his game-winning kick. The kicker also missed an extra point earlier.

Cousins had an awesome game, completing 22-of-32 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Dalvin Cook ran for 131 yards, though he did suffer an ankle injury.

Minnesota is now 0-2 on the season after two consecutive heartbreaking losses. The Vikings lost in overtime to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, and head coach Mike Zimmer might be feeling his seat getting hot.

Next up is a date with the Seattle Seahawks.
