The Minnesota Vikings have announced a schedule for their 2019 training camp at their new facility. According to Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com, that schedule has 16 open practices available to the fans.

The Vikings are clearly ready to show off their new facilities with that many open practices. According to the schedule, the first open full-team practice is on July 26. Meanwhile, the final open practice is on August 16.

In between those two dates, there are a lot of opportunities for fans to see the Vikings. This is a crazy difference compared to the supposed Philadelphia Eagles plan of having just one practice open to their fans.

Obviously, Minnesota wants to give their fans a good look at the team before the season starts. That's a great way to get a fanbase excited about a team that massively disappointed last season.

After going 13-3 and being a win away from the Super Bowl in 2016, they went 8-7-1 and didn't even get a playoff birth in 2017. That's despite what was supposed to be a massive upgrade at quarterback with Kirk Cousins taking the reins.

Now fans will get a chance to evaluate the talent up close and personal on quite a few occasions before the season starts. This will give them the opportunities to see the newly minted draft picks, as well as free agent signings like running back Ameer Abdullah.

The Vikings were likely to generate a lot of excitement from a very game fanbase. However, giving them 16 open practices ensures them the fans will be ready to go for week 1. Hey, even fans need a training camp.
