Things are not going well for Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings so far in Week 6.

With 1:15 to go in the first half against the winless Atlanta Falcons, Cousins tossed his third interception of the first half, bringing his season total to 10. On a 1st-and-5 on the opposing 44-yard line — just yards away from field goal range — Cousins' pass was deflected and wound up in the hands of Foyesade Oluokon. It was the first career interception for the third-year linebacker.

Linebacker Deion Jones and cornerback A.J. Terrell also picked off Cousins in the first half.

Cousins has struggled all season, and he entered Sunday's game with an 87.6 passer rating and 64 percent completion rate. The Vikings are still looking for their second win of the season, and hosting the 0-5 Falcons at home seemed like an ideal opportunity to do so.

Instead, Minnesota trailed 20-0 at halftime, largely thanks to their quarterback's carelessness.

The Falcons seem to be responding well to the coaching shake-up that occurred earlier this week. Atlanta owner Arthur Blank fired head coach Dan Quinn, general manager Thomas Dimitroff, and special teams coordinator Ben Kotwica after the 0-5 start. Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris was promoted to interim head coach.

QB Matt Ryan completed 19 of 23 passes in the first half and threw two touchdowns without committing a turnover. In contrast, Cousins completed just eight of his 14 throws for 102 yards.

If Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer opts to bench Cousins, he can turn to sixth-year QB Sean Mannion, who is the only other quarterback on the team's depth chart. Mannion has yet to to throw a TD in 13 career games since 2015.
