Warriors news: DeMarcus Cousins says massive crowd waiting for his debut had 'never been like that for me before'

Golden State Warriors center DeMarcus Cousins experienced something on Friday that had never happened to him before, and he didn't like it one bit.

As DeMarcus Cousins stepped onto the Staples Center floor for his pregame warm-ups ahead of his season and Warriors debut, around 70-80 NBA professionals were waiting for him. Once he saw the huge crowd, Boogie just shook his head.

“That [expletive] was crazy,” Cousins told Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. “I’ve been in the NBA for how many years? It’s never been like that for me before.

“Probably the fakest love I’ve ever received in my life,” he said after the game. “I honestly don’t see how guys like Steph [Curry] and [Kevin Durant] do it on a daily where it’s cameras on them all day. I don’t like it, at all. So, hopefully this is the last day of this.”

Other than the fake love as he called it, Cousins' Warriors debut went pretty well. The four-time All-Star finished with 14 points and six rebounds in 15 minutes while shooting 5-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

The Warriors destroyed the Clippers, winning by a final score of 112-94.

When Cousins makes his home debut with Golden State, the atmosphere is probably going to be even more electric than it was at Staples Center. Let's see if Boogie will enjoy that or be even more frustrated by the “fake love.”
