Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green seems to believe that the Warriors’ championship dynasty has something to do with rapper Kendrick Lamar.

The Dubs won their fourth championship in eight years against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night. The win solidifies the Warriors’ core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr as a legitimate dynasty.

Strangely, all of their championship victories coincide with the release of a Kendrick Lamar album and it appears that Green is buying into this coincidence.

But is it really a coincidence or a sign from a higher power?

In 2015, the year the Warriors’ dynasty won their first championship, Lamar released his third studio album “To Pimp a Butterfly.”

In 2017, Lamar dropped his fourth studio album, “Damn.” The release culminated in another Golden State championship.

In 2018, Lamar produced and performed several songs on “Black Panther: The Album.” Stephen Curry and Co. then ended up winning their last championship before their three-year hiatus from hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy.

Finally, in 2022, Lamar released his most recent project, “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.” Once again, the Warriors were able to return to their winning ways and be crowned NBA champions.

“Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers” was Lamar’s last studio album under the record label, Top Dawg Entertainment” and before the album’s release Lamar took a lengthy hiatus from music-making.

It is unclear if Lamar will return to making more music but for Green and Dubs fans, the hope is that Lamar continues to be Golden State’s good luck charm.
