Golden State Warriors star DeMarcus Cousins' deal with Puma was reported last week, and some courtside fans in Las Vegas had some fun with it on Wednesday night.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, a fan started to chirp at Cousins saying, “What's up with the Puma? They paying you big? I hope so.” This drew quite the reaction from the Warriors sitting on the bench.

According to Nick DePaula of ESPN, Cousins signed the offer sheet from Puma last Thursday. His previous brand, Nike, now has 10 days to match the offer. The deal is a multi-million dollar deal and it's unclear if Nike is planning on matching it.

Puma is launching their first signature shoe in over 20 years, the Puma Clyde Court Disrupt, on Oct. 11, so getting Cousins signed before the big launch is a huge boost for the company. Cousins is expected to wear this new shoe when he returns to the court, and he's expected to be the headliner when the company releases another shoe in the spring.

Puma has been aggressive signing talent since the NBA Draft, but Cousins is the most established star they have to date. Puma signed Deandre Ayton and Marvin Bagley III a few days before the draft. After the draft, they added Kevin Knox, Michael Porter Jr., and Zhaire Smith. Veteran Danny Green also just joined the squad.

If this first shoe release goes well, it wouldn't be surprising to see Puma step up their game more and try to get other established stars to jump ship and join their team.
