Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson was initially listed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Dallas Mavericks with an illness. The shooting guard missed Saturday's practice, so Warriors fans are wondering: Is Klay Thompson playing tonight vs. the Mavs?

This is certainly a bummer, and the Warriors will have to hope Thompson gets better soon and doesn't miss too much time. Golden State wants to get him as many reps as possible leading up to the playoffs after he missed the last two seasons with devastating injuries. Thompson has shown flashes of his old self in his return, though he's still not back to 100%.

Thompson played well in the Warriors' last game, a 132-95 shellacking of the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night. He scored 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting and 4-of-7 from 3-point range.

On the season, Thompson is averaging 17.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 42.3% from the field and 38.5% from 3-point land. He has never shot under 40% from 3 in a season, but the fact that he's at 38.5% right now is impressive coming off his injuries.

Golden State is 43-17 on the season, which is good for second place in the Western Conference. The Warriors are still waiting for Draymond Green to get back from a nagging back injury, which will hopefully happen in the next few weeks.

But when it comes to playing tonight against the Mavs, the Warriors will be without both Green and Klay Thompson.
