NBA players are grateful to their fans. After all, apart from paying for actual tickets, the fans lend undying support night in and night out. Yet despite this, it does not give them the right to demand autographs.

As reported by Warriors Outsiders co-host Drew Shiller, a fan got too aggressive in seeking Klay Thompson's autograph. Below is the video showing the encounter:

As observed, the Golden State Warriors star was walking towards the locker room. He was high-fiving some of the fans and all of a sudden, a fan grabbed his right hand and seemed intent on having Thompson sign some Warriors merchandise.

Thompson, who's known for his serious demeanor, did not like the act at all. He stared at the fan then walked away. To no one's surprise, he did not give an autograph.

It was a bad move for the fan. Several Twitter users who saw the clip said that the fan could have injured Thompson's hand — his shooting hand at that.

It was probably the right thing to do. Given Klay's demeanor, it seems that he's not really playing ball for the fame and attention.

He just wants to play basketball, drill shot after shot, and win as many championships as he can. All the attention that goes with it does not really matter to him.

The video clip above, as well as some clips online, show that Thompson shies away from cameras. It's a pity that some athletes and celebrities are treated as if they're autograph-signing machines. They do owe a lot to their fans. But they also need to have their personal airspace.
