Statistics reveal that Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors performs poorly during Christmas day.
As observed by Redditor u/mrilly, in seven Christmas day games, Curry has never scored more than 20 points hit more than two 3-pointers. Below are his statistics since 2010:

-2011 = 4 points, 2-for-12 FG
-2013 = 15 points, 5-for-17 FG
-2014 = 14 points, 5-for-12 FG
-2015 = 19 points, 6-for-15 FG
-2016 = 15 points, 4-for-11 FG
-2017 = DNP (sprained ankle)
-2018 = 15 points, 5-for-17 FG
In their 127-101 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, Curry was just 2-of-8 from downtown. For the season, he averages 5.1 makes from downtown on 11 attempts. Clearly, Christmas day isn't Curry's forte. His mediocre performance was much needed against the Lakers but he simply disappeared when his team was desperate for help.
However, he wasn't the only one who struggled out there. Splash Brother Klay Thompson just had five points on 2-of-7 shooting from the field and 1-of-3 from downtown. Kevin Durant crawled his way to 21 points on 5-of-13 shooting from the field. Andre Iguodala had to put up 23 points but it wasn't just enough to lift the Warriors over the Lakers.
Though it just might be another coincidence, Curry should prepare himself next time when another Christmas day game arrives. The Warriors cannot afford to another bad performance during Christmas day — a day where almost every single NBA fan is tuning in.
