The Washington Wizards have lost four of their last five games, and Bradley Beal admits there's no one to blame but himself for their recent struggles.

Washington fell to the Utah Jazz on Friday in a blowout fashion, 123-98. Beal had 21 points, but he had the worst plus-minus among Wizards players at -17. He was ineffective all game long as Donovan Mitchell and Co. had their way without any strong response.

After the game, Beal admitted he has been “shitty” all year and that he needs to step up if they want to keep competing for the playoffs.

“I’ve been shitty all year… I’ve gotta be better,” Beal said, per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports.

The Wizards got off to a great start, even making it to the Top 5 in the East and looking like legitimate playoff candidates. However, they have since dropped to seventh with a 15-2 record amid their recent slump.

For his part, Bradley Beal was averaging 22.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game prior to Saturday's game. He's also shooting 44.1 percent from the field. While solid numbers, howeber, his offensive production isn't what's expected from him after he put 31.3 points per game in 2020-21–even competing with Stephen Curry for the scoring award.

The biggest problem for Beal, though, has been his 3-point shooting at 26 percent. He was 1-of-3 against the Jazz, and it is quite clear he needs to be more active offensively and be a threat from all over the floor if they want to get back where they started this season.

Fortunately for the Wizards, Beal acknowledges his shortcomings and seems more than willing to work on it.
