Washington Wizards star shooting guard Bradley Beal has one of the smoothest looking jump shots in the NBA today. He's got a picture perfect form that almost always leads to splashes from wherever he launches his jumpers.
In an article he wrote for The Players Tribune, Beal gave the nod to his mother for helping him establish his sweet stroke:
According to Beal, his mother played college basketball at Kentucky and became a coach at one point in her life. Eventually, she passed down her knowledge to her five sons, especially to Bradley, who has become one of the best two-guards in the league today.
Beal shared how his mom would always put up sticky notes everywhere around their house on something about his shot mechanics after she watched him practice his shots on their mini-hoop. Definitely, those years of practice and criticism from his mom have paid off.
For his career, Beal has shot fairly efficiently as a two-guard. His career percentages are currently at 45.2 percent overall from the field and 38.4 percent from three-point country.
The former no. 3 overall pick had a career year for the Wizards last season. In his second straigh 82-game season, the two-time All-Star averaged 25.6 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 5.5 APG, and 1.7 SPG, all of which were career-bests. He also shot an efficient 47.5 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Beal has a major decision coming up soon. The Wizards have already offered him a three-year $111-million max contract extension. He reportedly has until October 21 to decide.
