The Washington Wizards got some horrible news on Tuesday as they have found out that superstar Bradley Beal will undergo wrist surgery and miss the remainder of the season.
This is horrible news for the Wizards, considering that there could have been a deal made for Beal at the trade deadline.
Beal wasn't having his best season with the Wizards, but he has still been able to score 23.2 points per game, which is down from the previous two seasons.
It is going to be interesting to see the direction that the Wizards do decide to go in now, considering that it was likely that there could have potentially been a move made for him in the coming days. Now, they're most likely going to stop all of those trade talks and try to find a way at to bring in the right pieces to surround Beal next season.
At this point, it would make sense if the Wizards go into a tanking situation that so that they can get a high draft pick for this year's draft. They're not in any position at the moment to compete for an NBA title, and now the news of losing their best player, certainly doesn't help those chances.
There are a few other players on their roster who could be traded with this news, including guys like Montrezl Harrell, Kyle Kuzma, and others.
