Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards is having a heck of a month.

With tonight's 125-116 drubbing of the Brooklyn Nets, the 25-year-old finished February with over 30 points per game on a scintillating 52.4 percent clip to go with a season-best 6.8 assists per night.

While he appreciates the statistical accolades, the seven-year guard as always is quick to deflect credit and has his eyes on the bigger picture.

Beal's humility is appreciated and also understandable. With franchise player John Wall out for the season (a 20-10 player in his own right that was having a spectacular stretch before the sudden season-ending injury) and their third banana Otto Porter Jr. (having a down year but still capable of putting up points) shipped off during the trade deadline mixed in with all sorts of injuries to their key players, the scoring cudgels are all in the hands of the former Florida Gator. It is not surprising to see him put up monster scoring games – in fact, he also tied a franchise record just mere days ago with another 40-point outing.

But what would make those feats a whole lot better is if it leads to wins given that the Wizards went 4-7 for the month – although they are not out of the woods yet in terms of the playoff picture with a 25-36 slate and just 3 to 4 games behind out of the last two seeds.

The team hopes that once they get everyone back and healthy (those who are expected to at least) and get some chemistry from their recent trade acquisitions going, they should be rocking and rolling in no time.

Even if it's just a first-round exit.
