The Washington Wizards have grabbed a share of the spotlight this season, but for the wrong reasons. They have lost eight of their first ten games, and Wizards star Bradley Beal says it's hard to ignore head coach Scott Brooks' job security questions.

Candace Buckner of The Washington Post wrote a column on the questions that cloud Brooks' coaching stint, including some statements from his players.

“It’s kind of hard to ignore when you have social media and the world we live in and everybody making rumors about it. It’s — it’s — you hear it,” Beal said, admitting that he’s aware of talk about Brooks’s job security.

“It’s on TV, people are talking about it. No truth to it at all,” Beal said. “But you never really pay attention to it because he comes in and he works every day. He’s here every day. I’m not saying this as a good thing but we’ve been in this position before. We’ve dug ourselves out of this hole before. He’s a well-experienced coach. He’s played in the league. He’s coached an unbelievable team in [Oklahoma City] and now he’s coaching us and trying to get us to that level. So you’ve got to respect what he’s done. You can’t just shoot a man in his foot.”

Brooks is certainly a good coach in this league. He has led the young core of the Oklahoma City Thunder to consecutive postseason appearances, including a Finals appearance in 2012.

But there's a line that separates a good coach from the right coach. Take for example the curious case of Dwane Casey and the Toronto Raptors. The Raps fired Casey after the team's paltry second-round loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in last year's playoffs.

Casey won the Coach of the Year award that season. To make matters more interesting, the Raptors are 10-1 this season under new head coach Nick Nurse.

So, not to take away the coaching brilliance of Brooks, but it is obvious that the Wizards are struggling under his system. The team has to figure this one out quickly, or changes will take place in Washington sooner than we think.
