Kamiah Adams, the fiancee of Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, apologized for her comments about All-Star starting point guard Trae Young during her defense of Beal's case for a spot in the roster.

Adams fiercely defended her fiancee, noting how Young, who plays for the Atlanta Hawks, was voted a starter even when his team has an Eastern Conference-worst 13 wins on the season.

On Friday morning, Adams took to Twitter to apologize for her comments:

Editor's note: Tweet has been edited for clarity:

“Last thing I'm saying on this. I misspoke last night while having a conversation with someone whom I tend to have very heated and passionate conversations with about basketball,” wrote Adams. “Using the term “cherry-picking” was not only incorrect terminology, but it was mean and I am woman enough to admit that.

“I don't and won't slander any player because they all go out and give it their all each and every night. HOWEVER, that does not take away from me feeling that Brad was snubbed. Because he was. And we all know it. Trae Young is an amazing player!! No doubt, I spoke on how I used to watch him play in AAU tournaments. So I apologize for my emotions going a million miles a minute and misspeaking. But I stand on EVERYTHING else I said. Bradley deserves to be an All-Star. And he's not the only one who was snubbed!

“Y'all want to turn around and ask “well who should he have made it over” trying to cause an uproar and tearing down isn't what I'm about. But there has to be a line drawn somewhere. Can't say Brad didn't get in cause the team isn't winning when there are players with the same amount of team wins, and lower wins… can't say it's about individual players and their performances because then they missed QUITE a few, Brad included.”

Adams, who looked misinformed enough in her original rant by saying that the All-Star selections are “a joke,” is shoveling dirt on her own grave even more with this half-hearted apology — desperately clamoring for her fiancee's worthy case.

The Wizards talent was one of many other players deserving of All-Star consideration, but it is the coaches who voted on the reserves — not the players, the media, or the fans. Her anger is clearly misdirected, and she's only looking more and more ignorant by the minute.

Beal was also clearly upset after the Wizards beat the Charlotte Hornets on Thursday, and so was his agent, Mark Bartelstein, who also vouched for his worthwhile inclusion among the other Eastern Conference reserves.
