New Washington Wizards forward CJ Miles appeared at the American University for kids basketball camp on Tuesday. During the Q&A portion, Miles confirmed that he will wear number 34 for Washington this season, per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports. He added that Bradley Beal is his favorite current Wizards player.

Miles is already warming himself up to the kids at Washington. During the camp, he played a nice little game of Knockout with the kids – and of course, he dominated them.

The Wizards acquired Miles from the Memphis Grizzlies in the off-season in exchange for center Dwight Howard.

Miles played 53 games last season between the Toronto Raptors and the Grizzlies. He averaged 6.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and shot 36 percent from the field and 33 percent from beyond the arc.

Miles will play his 15th NBA season in 2019-20. Though he can still stroke it from beyond the arc, the 32-year old will likely take a backseat further for the Wizards as they look to play their young guys more this season. Nevertheless, Washington likes the veteran leadership that Miles brings to the locker room and this is very valuable to a team that is looking to get younger as the season progresses.

Changes have already begun with the Wizards. They recently promoted Tommy Sheppard to general manager this summer. Moreover, they also made some changes within their coaching staff.

Given that Washington is likely headed towards an eventual teardown, they will most likely have to move their most valuable asset – and Miles' favorite player – Bradley Beal at some point this season to maximize the value that they can get in return for the All-Star shooting guard.
