Veteran small forward Jeff Green says he “would love” to come back to the Washington Wizards next season.

Green becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. He signed a one-year deal with the Wizards last offseason worth $2.39 million.

The Wizards were one of the most disappointing teams this season. Despite having a talented roster, Washington missed the playoffs.

Injuries, though, played a big role in the Wizards' failures. John Wall was lost for the season after undergoing heel surgery. The All-Star point guard also tore his Achilles tendon after slipping at his house. Wall only played in 32 games this season.

Center Dwight Howard appeared in nine games. Howard suffered a back injury which required surgery.

Green, 32, averaged 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this season for Washington. The 32-year-old Maryland native shot 47.7 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 89.4 percent from the free-throw line.

The veteran swingman has bounced around the league. He began his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Since then, Green has played for the Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers and Wizards.

Washington will be looking for a new general manager this summer. It will be interesting to see if the franchise wants to bring Green back.
