Washington Wizards star John Wall just had arguably the worst game of his career on Saturday night. His team suffered an unexpected defeat at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers, 116-101, with Wall scoring only one point in 26 minutes of action.

After the defeat, Wall admitted that he was well aware that he had just put out one of the worst performances of his career.

“I didn't have to look at [the box score],” he said via ESPN. “I already knew it without looking at it. First game of my life. One free throw. No field goals.”

However, the 28-year-old was quick to pint out that he was nursing a left heel injury, which turned out to be the main culprit of his terrible showing.

“I couldn't move,” John Wall said. “Couldn't run. Probably shouldn't have played. That's my fault….I've had it for a while.”

That explains it. Wall has had his fair share of bad games in the past, but this one just felt like something wasn't right. Aside from the heel issue, the five-time All-Star was also feeling under the weather, and was actually considered questionable coming into the matchup against the Cavs.

Despite his team's struggles, Wall has actually been great for the Wizards so far this season. In 25 appearances, the 6-foot-4 point guard is currently averaging 20.4 points (on 43.8 percent shooting), a career-best 1.6 three-pointers, 3.5 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.0 blocks, and 3.4 turnovers in 34.2 minutes per ballgame.

John Wall is locked in with the Wizards for the long term after he signed four-year, $170 million extension with the side last year. He remains to be the team's cornerstone superstar, and Washington will be relying on him heavily to bring them out of their current slump.
