Washington Wizards star point guard John Wall did not participate in practice on Friday and instead had an MRI on his troublesome left knee, the results of which are still pending.

Wall’s left knee is quickly becoming a concerning issue. He played through it in last week’s 91-88 loss to the Miami Heat and finished with a season-low eight points on 3-of-12 shooting. He then missed their next game against the Toronto Raptors, which the Wizards lost, 100-91, presumably as a precaution.

Wall did play in their next two games and looked back to his best against the Charlotte Hornets. He had 31 points and 11 rebounds in 41 minutes in a losing effort. However, the fact that he’s having an MRI reveals that the injury is still bothersome.

Wall is having a fairly underwhelming season thus far. He’s averaging 20.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 9.2 assists, and 1.1 steals in 34.4 minutes while shooting 43 percent from the field, which are all significantly down from last year's numbers.

Wall should be considered questionable for the Wizards' next game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday. If the MRI results do show the need for Wall to miss more time, backup Tim Frazier is set to take his place in the starting lineup. Frazier has already started two games this season, averaging five points and eight assists.
