FS1 analyst Nick Wright had some interesting remarks about Wizards All-Star John Wall during Monday morning's episode of First Things First, noting that the five-time All-Star's contract will be a detriment to his team.

As part of his monologue, Nick Wright claimed that Wall's contract is one of the worst in the NBA, comparing it to that of Los Angeles Rams quarter back Jared Goff:

“What John Wall is to the Washington Wizards is what Jared Goff is about to be to the Los Angeles Rams — an anchor around their neck that brings them to mediocrity,” Wright said on Monday's episode of First Things First.

Wall actually heard Wright's remarks and sent out a subtle reply:

Wall, now 29 years of age, signed a four-year, $171 million contract extension with the Wizards. This season, the former Kentucky Wildcat will earn a base salary of $38,199,000, while carrying a cap hit of $38,199,000 and a dead cap value of $38,199,000, according to spotrac.com.

Unfortunately, Wall is expected to miss all of this season as he recovers from a torn Achilles. He's been doing some light work in practice, including some on-court drills. However, he still has a ways to go until he's fully healthy.

“I'm great, man. Just rehabbing, working out and lifting weights. I'm shooting some jump shots, doing some ball-handling and stuff like that,” Wall told NBC Sports in September.

The Wizards have struggled through the early stages of this season with Wall sidelined. In fact, they're carrying a 2-6 record through their first eight games of this season. Their next shot at claiming a victory comes on Wednesday night, when they'll travel to Boston for a matchup against the Celtics.
