LeBron James may have gotten the glory of being the NBA's second-leading scorer of all-time, but Kristaps Porzingis all but stole his thunder. The Washington Wizards forward has been balling out in his new team, a nice change of pace from the Dallas Mavericks.

On Saturday night, Kristaps Porzingis had an incredibly clutch poster dunk against LeBron to tie the game up for the Wizards. It's a tantalizing show of things to come for the team in the future when their stars get healthy. (via ClutchPoints)

Porzingis would end up icing the game for the Wizards, completing the comeback attempt with a dagger three to end the Lakers. It's an exciting moment for Washington fans, who have considerably gotten better since the All-Star break. Porzingis is looking like a potential long-term piece for them, which is exactly what they need.

With Bradley Beal out for the remainder of the season, the focus of the Wizards has been developing some of their players. Kyle Kuzma has shown significant strides in DC, and Porzingis has looked better than ever with his new team. This season might be a lost cause for them, but they look primed and ready to make some serious noise next season.

For now, though, the Wizards are looking to maximize whatever talents they have left. Deni Avdija and Rui Hachimura are two other young guns that have gotten significant time this season. The last few games should be allotted to giving them enough reps in to be used to a larger role next year.
