While he is only averaging 44.3 percent from the field so far this season, John Wall was on fire on Monday during their game against the Sacramento Kings. The Washington Wizards star guard made 9-of-10 shots, and barely missed out on a double-double with 21 points, two rebounds, nine assists and one steal in 27 minutes of action.

With his hot-shooting on the night, he received a lot of praise for his shot selection, and leading the Wizards to their third straight victory. However for Marcin Gortat, he still found a way to poke fun at his teammate, by calling him out for making shots whenever he was in a good position for an offensive rebound, via Candace Buckner of The Washington Post.

Gortat on John Wall’s 9-for-10 three-point shooting in games against the Kings: “I’m glad, you know, but the funny thing is that out of those nine shots, I probably had a great rebounding situation for seven of them. And none of them bounced back to me, so I was pissed actually he made those. I was super pissed he made those.”

The Polish international center may have joked about it, but he is definitely happy with Wall’s performance, as he understands it will further boost his confidence, which could lead to more solid production from him in their upcoming games. It also shows how good their relationship is, as they are comfortable at poking fun at one another during interviews.

The Wizards returned to action on Wednesday versus the Miami Heat, and it will be interesting to see if the four-time All-Star point guard can sustain the momentum he has now. Should he still shoot the lights out once again, his team will have a big chance of extending their winning streak, and move up to 8-5 for the season.
