The Washington Wizards have clinched the 8 seed in the Eastern Conference after a last-second victory against the Charlotte Hornets on the final day of the NBA regular season. Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal did just enough to put the game away late, as the Wizards won 115-110 as they continue to keep their momentum heading into the playoffs.

Beal ended up playing, although he didn't look like himself. Still, the Wizards got it done and their opponent will be the Boston Celtics.

Westbrook notched another triple-double (surprised?) and continues to add to his all-time NBA record. Russ finished with 23 points, 15 boards, and 10 assists. Beal returned after a hamstring injury and was able to chip in 25 points as the Wizards escaped with the victory.

For the Hornets, they will face the Indiana Pacers, with the loser going home and the winner playing the loser of the Wizards-Celtics game.

Washington won four of its last six games, with both losses coming against the Atlanta Hawks, and this team peaking at the right time bodes well for their hopes in the playoffs.

Unfortunately, the winner of the East play-in tournament will earn a matchup against either the Philadelphia 76ers or Brooklyn Nets, so that isn't the most exciting thing.

Still, after the rough start to the year and head coach Scott Brooks' name being thrown around as a potential fire candidate, it's assuring to see the Wizards earn a top-8 seed.
