Russell Westbrook is many things. A triple-double machine, an NBA MVP, a fireball of endless energy, and a fashion icon. For ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins, Westbrook is also like a boxer.

In a story by Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Perkins talked about the Eastern Conference scenarios in the NBA Playoffs. He said the New Jersey Nets are the heavy favorites to come out of the battles unscathed. But the former NBA enforcer also likes the chances of the Washington Wizards, especially with Westbrook and Bradley Beal running the show. He's been so impressed by Westbrook, he compared him to boxing icon Mike Tyson.

“Having Russell Westbrook and Bradley Beal go against the Brooklyn Nets, that would be must-see TV. Russ plays with that tenacity, he’s so ferocious. When I think of Russ, he’s so intimidating that he reminds me of Mike Tyson.”

Perkins added that his former teammate can intimidate opponents just by stepping on the floor. Westbrook has always played like he's perpetually angry at the world, unleashing his pent-up emotions to anybody who stands in his way. And just like the controversial Tyson, sometimes he gets too ferocious for his own good.

“He (Tyson) may not be the greatest boxer of all time, but he was the most ferocious. When Russ steps on the floor, whether people admit it or not, he’s ferocious. People are intimidated by his presence because of how dominant he is.”

Kendrick Perkins wishes to see the Nets and the Wizards go at it in a seven-game series. And who can blame him? Let's just hope Russell Westbrook doesn't bite Kevin Durant's ear off.
