It was a busy offseason for the Washington Wizards that featured plenty of moving parts on the way out as well as on the way in.

The offseason was highlighted by the trade of Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers for the Wizards.

Via The Athletic, Westbrook tried to convince superstar Bradley Beal to ask for a trade as well.

And before Westbrook resorted to calling Leonsis, he had tried to convince Beal in the weeks leading up to the draft that they should both ask out of Washington, according to sources. Short of Beal showing a desire to also request a trade, Westbrook was hopeful Beal would at least support his efforts to get to L.A. — which, sources said, Beal did.

It's admirable of Beal to stick things out with the Wizards despite all the changes on the roster and the unknown of how good this team may or not be this season.

Westbrook is on to Los Angeles and will now look to bring home a championship with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the Lakers. The Wizards received a good amount of pieces back in the Westbrook trade but outside of Kyle Kuzma, none get close to moving the needle.

It'll be interesting to see how Beal handles things if the Wizards start slow or fall out of contention as the year goes on. For now, he's remaining loyal to D.C. and the organization.
