Given the talent and skill set that he has, Washington Wizards star John Wall has established himself as one of elite point guards in the NBA today. His rare combination of precision passing, with the ability to score in different ways has turned him into a nightmare matchup for their opponents night in and night out.

However, for his Wizards head coach, Scott Brooks, he believes that ability to get transition blocks on the defensive end is where he excels at more than any other point guard in league history.

Despite only standing 6-foot-4, Wall more than makes up for his lack of height with his speed and explosiveness. He also has great timing, which allows him to swat away shot attempts in transition. This season so far, the four-time All-Star is averaging a career-high 1.1 blocks per game, with some of it during fastbreaks, and when his team has not yet set up their defense.

It may be a tall order for Wall to continue blocking shots at this pace throughout the campaign, but with his knack for denying opposing players with easy shots, it could be possible for him to have the most blocks in any season of his career. He will also strengthen his coach's bold claim, and will definitely make the Wizards an even tougher team to beat.
