Wizards to move Isaiah Thomas into starting lineup vs. Pistons
Thomas is replacing Is Smith in the starting lineup:
Wizards are moving guard Isaiah Thomas into the starting lineup tonight against Detroit, league sources tell ESPN. He’s averaged 16.3 PPG and 7.3 APG in his first three games. He hasn’t started an NBA game since 2018 with Lakers.

Thomas didn’t play in the Wizards’ first two games because of his thumb injury. IT is averaging 16.3 points and 7.3 assists in the three games he’s played in while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from beyond the arc and a perfect 100 percent from the free-throw line.
The Wizards are 1-4 on the young season. They’ll be facing a Pistons team on Monday which will be without Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose and Reggie Jackson. This is a good opportunity for Thomas and Washington to go off.
Thomas averaged 8.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 12 regular-season games with the Denver Nuggets last season while shooting 34.3 percent from the floor, 27.9 percent from the 3-point line and 63.0 percent from the charity stripe. He didn’t play at all in the 2019 playoffs.
Thomas is looking to revive his NBA career with the Wizards. He struggled with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers during the 2017-18 campaign and fell out of the Nuggets’ playing rotation.
So far, IT is off to a good start in the nation’s capital.
