The Washington Wizards are maintaining their long-held stance of building around Bradley Beal. The Wizards have no intentions to rebuild and have tried again and again to rehash the team around their star shooting guard. Their efforts haven't amounted to much.

According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, the Wizards have looked into Domantas Sabonis as a potential star to add next to Beal.

As the Wizards have discussed adding key reinforcements such as Jerami Grant, Indiana Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis has also emerged as another significant trade target, sources told B/R.

The Pacers are reportedly looking for a wide range of assets in order to part with Sabonis, a two-time All-Star. Washington does have some young talent and future first-round picks they could dangle in order to make a deal work. Fischer added two other teams that could pursue Sabonis.

Word has since trickled around the league that Beal would welcome playing with Sabonis, although one source with knowledge of the situation maintained Beal has not actively encouraged the Wizards to acquire him. League personnel say the Pacers are seeking a package similar to or greater than the haul Nikola Vucevic drew for the Orlando Magic last season. Only Sacramento, New Orleans and Washington have been linked by league personnel as Sabonis suitors with significant interest.

Beal has said that he wants more out for the Wizards than just a spot in the play-in tournament. Washington, at 23-27, is in 12th place in the Eastern Conference. Their biggest addition of the offseason, Spencer Dinwiddie, is now a pariah in the locker room and the Wizards are eager to trade him.

Beal and Sabonis would make for an intriguing tandem, but it'll still take more for the Wizards to approach title contention.
