It looks like Washington Wizards star point guard John Wall's Achilles rehab was going really well prior to the NBA suspending play due to COVID-19.

Before the NBA closed its facilities down, Wall was working with the Wizards' G League affiliate and he recently dunked all over G League guy Garrison Mathews.

Via Fred Katz of The Athletic:

“I tried to catch up with him and jump with him, which was a bad mistake because he put it on my head. It was bad,” Mathews said between chuckles. “I heard it from everybody in the gym.”

John Wall was always going to miss the entire 2019-20 season for the Wizards. Washington's front office actually preferred that the former No. 1 overall pick played it safe.

Wall played in 32 games last season for the Wizards before undergoing his season-ending heel surgery. He then fell at his house and tore his Achilles tendon unfortunately. The former Kentucky star averaged 20.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 8.7 assists in 2018-19 for the Wizards while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 30.2 percent from beyond the arc and 69.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Wall, 30, has career NBA averages of 19.0 points and 9.2 assists in 573 games with the Wizards. Washington will likely be playoff contenders whenever next season starts since Wall will be back in the backcourt with superstar shooting guard Bradley Beal.

Wall signed a four-year, $170 million contract extension with the Wizards in the summer of 2017. That contract kicked in this season.
