Former Michigan Wolverines standout and NBA star Chris Webber is set to join the Hall of Fame ranks along with the rest of the 2021 class.

Webber had a well documented career at Michigan as part of the “Fab Five.” Even more noted was the falling out afterwards, specifically between Webber and Jalen Rose.

In a sit-down with ESPN, Webber was asked about Rose surprising him on ESPN to interview him for his Hall of Fame announcement.

“ESPN didn't tell me [Jalen] was going to interview me. So they kept saying, ‘Here comes [host Maria Taylor], Maria … 5, 4, 3 …' and then I hear, ‘What up?' And it was [Jalen]. So it was a cool moment. I mean, I talk to his family, his sister, you know, all the time. Him and I still have to talk. Like, things don't get repaired without talking. So that's not the way to do it, to interview me on camera and not go into a room.”

It seems like a bold move pulled by ESPN to try and catch Webber off guard by putting him in front of his former Michigan teammate after they had a falling out.

Webber went on to note he has a great relationship with Michigan now and his former Fab Five teammates although with Rose, it's still not completely fixed.

“We already back. We already texting and hanging. We want the world to know we're already back…And I want to give this good news to the world. I want to. … But I'm going to see Michigan practice. Me and Juwan [have been] on the phone. … But there has been that rift because Jalen has decided to talk and I've said we should handle everything behind the scenes.”

Webber believes all it will take is a 30-second conversation between the former Michigan stars to fix their issues. Let's hope he's right.
