NBA Hall of Famer and Houston Rockets legend Yao Ming spoke with Graham Bensinger in an interview about this NBA career.

Yao recalled his first time playing against Jordan in the 2002-03 season, and says Michael Jordan gave him a bit of trash talk before he knew what was really happening.

I don't understand. I don't understand. I just don't understand English back then.

Although he couldn't make out what Jordan was saying, one thing he was certain of is that he was nervous being on the same court with the Chicago Bulls legend.

I've never been that nervous. I just joke about it, you know what I'm saying. I feel very nervous. Can't explain. Can't explain. I (was) just nervous.

It still remains a moment that he will always cherish, although he wishes he had the opportunity to play against other legends of the 90's.

I played against so many superstars, obviously Michael is (at the) top of them, in my first year. … I have the fortune to play, not many, but one or two games (against them) in the beginning of my career in the NBA. That's amazing.
